Multilingual SEO beyond literal translation
Connect language versions through useful content, clear navigation and reliable technical signals. Keep the relationship between your pages explicit as the website grows.

Find the right equivalent for each page
A service may have a French and an English version with different wording, examples and questions. Other content may be useful in only one market.
We map those relationships by purpose rather than by similar slugs or titles. Missing versions remain identified as missing; they are not replaced with empty pages simply to complete a language grid.
Localise the search intent and the journey
Good language is essential, but it does not by itself establish search relevance. We review the expressions prospects use and the type of answer visible in the results.
Page titles, introductions and FAQs should follow that evidence. Menus, buttons and form responses also need localisation. Links to resources in another language should make that transition clear to the reader.
Make the technical signals agree
Each genuinely localised page needs a coherent canonical. Hreflang relationships should be reciprocal and include only relevant, published alternatives.
Language and region codes are handled separately. Redirects, staging pages and unpublished drafts do not belong in the public set. We also inspect the HTML language and sitemap to identify contradictions between the page and the site configuration.
Keep future updates under control
When a service changes, its alternatives may need a review. The content map should therefore retain a stable identity and record which version was used as the source.
We define responsibility for technical facts, commercial claims and editorial approval. This helps avoid one language retaining an outdated promise, broken contact link or obsolete specification after another language has been updated.
Useful deliverables for editorial and development teams
A multilingual review can provide a variant inventory, an English-French glossary, intent-led briefs, a hreflang matrix and a technical issue list. Acceptance checks cover navigation, metadata, links, contact forms and mobile presentation.
The scope distinguishes content work from CMS configuration. Existing images may be reused when their context is suitable, with alternative text adapted to each placement.
Example: repairing a disconnected bilingual site
A site may have French and English pages but repeatedly send English visitors back to French navigation or forms. The first step is to repair the priority journey and verify genuine page pairs.
Further translation follows the content strategy, not a need to fill empty menu items. This scenario illustrates the work; it is not a claim about a specific client project.

Questions before we begin
Does hreflang translate content?
No. It describes relationships between existing language or regional versions. The content still needs to be written and reviewed.
Can you work with our translation plugin?
We can examine the actual URLs and output it produces, then define changes suitable for your CMS and installed extensions.
Should every page be translated?
Only when it is useful for the audience and can be maintained. Selective, complete localisation can be more useful than a large set of weak versions.
